We cordially invite you to participate in the D-CIS Human Factors Event,
which will be held on Monday the 1st (doctoral colloquium), Tuesday the 2nd and Wednesday the 3rd of November 2010, in Delft, the Netherlands.
Research on human factors is increasingly gaining interest and human factors are taken into account more and more for developing systems and products. The D-CIS partners (Thales Nederland BV, Delft University of Technology, Universiteit van Amsterdam, University of Tilburg and Foundation for Neural Networks) have an established tradition in this field. Therefore, the D-CIS Lab is hosting the D-CIS Human Factors Events.
In 2010 the third D-CIS Human Factors Event is organized. The goal of the D-CIS Human Factors Event 2010 is to bring together researchers, technology developers and end-users with an interest in the human factors field to foster informal meetings and the exchange of ideas and knowledge. It is an excellent opportunity to gain insight in the state-of-the-art technology and research on human factors, to establish cooperation between technology developers and researchers and to discuss specific research needs in the field of human factors.
The D-CIS Human Factors Event 2010 again provides researchers the opportunity to present their research to technology developers and end-users and to meet colleague researchers, technology developers and end-users in the human factors field. Additionally, end-users and technology developers are invited to present human factors related works. By meeting people from the industry who include human factors research in their development process, researchers will get the opportunity to gain knowledge about real-life problems and issues to tackle in the human factors research field.
The activities of this year’s D-CIS Human Factors Event include: plenary presentations, a poster session, a demonstration session, a doctoral colloquium, challenge groups, a three minute thesis competition and ‘science in the pub’. More information can be found on this website.
Researchers from multiple disciplines are invited, such as social sciences, technology sciences, information sciences and artificial intelligence. In addition, technology developers and end-users are welcome to present their latest developments
After the D-CIS Human Factor Event 2010, a Workshop on Multi-touch technology uses will be held on the 4th of November in Delft to exchange knowledge about this new technology. Aspects related to Human factors, gestures and interaction patterns, benefits and limits, collaboration and so on will be emphasized more than the technological aspects.
